Embarassment at the Cat and Fiddle

Back in the distant 80s I was the proud owner of a Suzuki GT750 (kettle). I live within spitting distance of the Cat & Fiddle, so after a blast over the infamous route, I decided to pop to the local chippy for a bite to eat (and to do a bit of posing).

Arriving outside the eatery I was pleased to see there was a decent queue,so after revving the old two stroke a few times to make sure I had some attention I flicked the side stand down with a flourish and stepped off the bike. The side stand disappeared down a grid and I ended up with the bike on top of my left leg.

Embarrassed, I`m sure you could see the red glowing from beneath my helmet! uffice to say after a little help from the laughing onlookers I rode off hoping nobody had recognised me. It’s amazing how quickly you can lose your appetite.
