Daytona Travel Star GTX boots, £379.99
Time tested: 9000 miles/ five months
What’s good? The Travel Star GTX boots are a high quality product, albeit for a high price. They feature a Gore-Tex membrane with a water-resistant cowhide leather outer that hasn’t leaked once despite torrential downpours. The Daytonas are easy to walk in and fit perfectly, with a comfortable interior and Velcro adjustment for the calf. They fasten up using a sturdy zip covered by a long Velcro fastener. They come with full ankle, shinbone protection, a non-slip rubber sole and a reinforced gearchange pad. Everything about them is top-notch, from the build quality to the finish.
What’s not? Clearly the Daytona’s come with a hefty price tag. But the cleverly crafted boots are top end and provide top end function that justifies the extra pounds.
