1 of 1

Piaggio has just unveiled their new ‘Copter’ open face helmet, in honour of Italian engineer Corradino D’Ascanio.

The Piaggio Copter helmet is designed to look like the helmets worn by Helicopter crews, but still offers the safety required for motorcycle riding.

The Copter features four new colours for 2009 – Nero Matt, Grigio Matt, Blue Midnight and Aubergine.

The ECE 2205 approved, thermoplastic shell is partly covered and trimmed with textured ‘eco leather’.

The helmet comes in five sizes (XS-XL) the outer shell comes in two sizes for a closer fit, one for XS-M and the other for L-XL. The compact design means the helmet will fit in most underseat compartments.

Inside is a hypoallergenic, now with removable cheek pads for maximum comfort. The visor has been redesigned to provide more wind.

The Copter helmet retails at £119.99, available from authorised Piaggio/Vespa dealers.  Owners may customize their helmet with an optional smoked or yellow visor for an extra £44.99.
