What’s good? These zip to my Dainese jacket, so get close to providing the kind of protection you’d expect from full leathers, although the fit is much looser than proper race leathers.

This was a strange feeling when I did a track day at Mondello Park recently and if I’m honest didn’t feel as protected as when I’m wearing a one-piece.

The trousers are supposed to go over the top of Dainese boots, although I had to get another leather panel added in around the bottom of the leg by Zac Leathers in Northampton (www.zakleathers.co.uk) so they’d fit comfortably.

What’s not? There’s no doubt that two-piece leathers are handy on a big trip, but the trousers aren’t as comfortable as race leathers.

The knee area doesn’t ‘give’ enough, restricting movement when hanging off the bike in the corners and makes your knees hurt after a day in the saddle.
