Vuillemin pips RC for supercross win

1 of 1

DAVID VUILLEMIN stretched his points lead in the U.S. 250 supercross championship after passing Ricky Carmichael on the last lap in the final at the RCA Dome, Indianapolis. It was the Frenchman’s third win of the season.

Carmichael had earlier been booed after an aggressive pass on Travis Pastrana, which put his Suzuki rival out of contention for a rostrum place.

Former multi-supercross champ Jeremy McGrath, while improving each week, has yet to show his old winning form, finishing only seventh in the final.

Aussie Chad Reed won his first ever Main Event in round one of the 125 East Series. The US supercross rookie, who was second overall in the 250 motocross GP series last year, passed early leader Mike Brown and held on to the flag for the win on his four-stroke Yamaha 250.
