Crescent future undecided

The future of the Crescent team in BSB – and Tommy Hill’s future with the Worx-backed team – are in doubt without the backing from Suzuki GB.

The Verwood-based dealership now has to find the budget shortfall to be able to continue racing and Crescent owner Paul Denning told MCN that he is considering his options.

“We’re disappointed at Suzuki’s decision but understand that it’s a commercial necessity, purely on Suzuki’s side,” said Denning.

“The first option is not competing at all. Secondly, could continue with Suzukis. The factory in Japan is still keen to give us support so, while there’s no budget, it could be that we run with Suzukis again.”

But the third option is a much-rumoured switch to Yamahas. Denning didn’t want to discuss the manufacturer but did say: “Going racing with another manufacturer is possible but it would be a big step for us to do that. If we did change, then it would have to be with the blessing of the factory in Japan.”
