Hutchy in BSB with Hill at Swan Yamaha

Ian Hutchinson’s fightback from career-threatening leg injuries has been rewarded with a superbike ride in the title-winning Swan Yamaha team, alongside defending champion Tommy Hill.

Hutchinson had been plotting his comeback with the team in the British Supersport ranks for 2012, but after his brilliant comeback third place at Macau team boss Shaun Muir has promoted him to the BSB ranks.

TT hero Hutchinson told MCN: “Shaun said at the end of the season he’d like to get me on a superbike in 2012 but I never thought it would happen. But now it has and I’m peaking. I really enjoyed riding the 2011 bike at Macau and can’t want to start testing the 2012 bike with the new Motec electronics.”

After seeing his best WSB option of joining Crescent Suzuki as Leon Camier’s WSB team-mate disappearing, Tommy Hill returns to BSB in 2012 to defend his title with the Swan Yamaha team.

Hill said: “I’m really happy to remain with Shaun’s team. I’ve got a good relationship there and a good relationship with Yamaha Europe. Racing is all about building good relationships and I hope this will help me in my future career.”
