Byrne unconcerned about no contract

Triple BSB champion Shane Byrne says he remains unconcerned about still not having signed a contract for 2014, and believes that a return to his PBM Kawasaki team is still on the cards.

With team boss Paul Bird still deep in negotiations with Aprilia with regards to MotoGP effort, Byrne says that he hasn’t pushed the Cumbrian chicken magnate until it’s clear where the team will be and in what class for 2014.

“If I wanted a contract today and phoned up Paul, he’d get one sorted right away, but I’m not bothering him until the sorts out the MotoGP deal. I love my team at PBM and I’m sure that I’ll be back with them for 2014. I have had some enquiries from other teams, but to be honest I’m more than happy where I am.”

Despite having yet to sign, the 2013 runner-up will still join new teammate Stuart Easton next week for a test with the squad at Cartagena in Spain.
