Samsung Honda withdraw from BSB

As reported in this Wednesday’s Motorcycle News, it is looking increasingly likely that there won’t be an official Honda team on the grid for the 2014 MCE British Superbike Championship.
MCN have been led to believe that the team have now been informed of the decision, and that the outfit, which has won four titles in their ten years in the series, will be forced to take a year out.
A lack of available riders after Alex Lowes’ move to WSB and difficulty in securing a sponsor after Samsung parted with the team left them in an untenable situation, and the team will miss a year for the first time since their return from World Superbikes in 2003.
However, the Lincolnshire team will still remain on the grid in a number of series, with John McGuinness and Conor Cummins racing the Isle of Man TT, North West 200 and Ulster Grand Prix while Freddy Foray, Sebastian Gimbert and Julian Da Costa join the endurance team in an attempt to lift the world title.
