MCE British Superbikes have announced a dramatic extension to their contract that will see the championship remain on Eurosport until at least 2020. The deal means live coverage across Eurosport’s entire network, a whopping 71 countries across Europe and Asia, as well as separate coverage in key markets like the USA and Brazil.

Coverage from next year will be in full HD, and will be extended to include live action from Saturday’s Superpole session and the British Supersport sprint race, which has provided some of the most dramatic racing of the season in 2013.

Stuart Higgs, BSB series director, said, “Eurosport is well known as the Home of Bikes particularly in the UK and MCE BSB has been the cornerstone of that programming for some time. They understand bike racing and the series, have a strong, growing and loyal viewing audience and they understand how we want the series to grow.

“In addition, being part of the Eurosport family means we now have a far wider global distribution, including the USA through Discovery Velocity. Overseas markets are a key consideration for us and it is an area we want to grow over the term of this deal.”

Eurosport coverage this weekend sees a ‘Superbike Sunday’ special as both BSB and World Superbikes go down to the wire for their respective final rounds on Sunday, as well as MotoGP action from Australia’s Philip Island.
