Tamada's Dunlop hopes

Tech-3 Yamaha newboy Makoto Tamada has revealed that the Dunlop front tyre on his Yamaha M1 is already inspiring him with more confidence than he ever had in his time with Michelin at Honda in 20096.

Tamada was a notable casualty of a move from Bridgestone to Michelin, and saw his race-winning form go up in smoke as he failed to get on with the French tyres.

But he says his new Dunlops are already a step forward – at the front at least.

Speaking after the recent Mayalsian MotoGP test at Sepang, Tamada said: “I really like the front tyre and this is the problem I had with Michelin. The rear tyre is not too bad but we definitely need to work on getting more edge grip.”
