James Toseland confirms Tech 3 Yamaha MotoGP signing to MCN

James Toseland has just confirmed to MCN that he has signed with the Tech 3 Yamaha MotoGP squad for next year.

Speaking exclusively to MCN, James Toseland said: “It is very difficult for me to say very much at the moment – but I can say that I have signed with Yamaha and will be riding for them next year. 

“Honda wanted me to stay with them, but that was in World Superbike. As far as MotoGP goes with Honda, well they have a very long list of riders for their MotoGP slots.

“The final details about the deal, such as the team structure and what tyres will be used have yet to be decided.”

In an official announcement made this afternoon Tech 3 team boss Herve Poncharal said: “I am delighted to have secured a rider of James’ calibre and am looking forward to working with him.” 

“Procuring James is a major coup for Tech 3 Yamaha and for the MotoGP championship in extending our reach into Northern Europe. It is an exciting time for us all and I am certain that he will be an integral part of the team’s future.”
