800s better for Randy

New Kawasaki number one Randy de Puniet believes the generation 800cc machines will help establish him more in the MotoGP world championship this season.
The French rider has been one of the surprise packages of winter testing so far with two recent impressive displays at the Sepang circuit in Malaysia.
The former factory Aprilia man had a tough rookie campaign in 2006 with some rotten luck but he is hoping the switch to 800cc bikes for 2007 will inject some momentum into his MotoGP career.
“The new bikes are not so similar to a 250. You have a lot of horsepower but sure the speed in the corner is faster and also the bike is easier to change direction and with this bike you can keep a good lap time from the first to the last lap, more than with the 990. This is the key to work for the races and he rear tyre is better for the endurance too.”
