New chasis for KRJR

Kenny Roberts will try a new chassis on only his second day of testing the all-new KR212V 800cc machine tomorrow at the Sepang circuit in Malaysia.

The new chassis was only finished last Wednesday at the Team Roberts headquarters in Banbury and it was immediately flown with some late freight to Kuala Lumpur for the resumption of winter testing after the seven-week ban.

His mechanics were building up the second bike with the new chassis this afternoon at the Sepang circuit while the American completed his first laps on the new KR212V – the first time the 2000 world 500 champion has lapped on a new generation 800cc machine.

He lapped the circuit today on a chassis modified from the version he raced last season on the 990cc KR machine that runs with a Honda engine.
