Dorna UK, the commercial rights holder of the British Superbike Championship, have announced (January 5, 2007) the appointment of Colin Clark to the new position of head of sales and marketing.

Colin joins Dorna in this role from a similar position as commercial manager for the Subaru World Rally Team at Prodrive Motorsport.

The British Superbike Championship enjoyed its best year to date in 2006, delivering record live spectator and television audiences, and firmly establishing itself as Britain’s premier, domestic motorsport series.

Tony Partis, managing director of Dorna UK, said: “Colin’s appointment represents the next step in the continuing success of the British Superbike Championship. “He brings with him a wealth of experience managing the entire commercial process; from developing new products, PR, licensing, leveraging new media channels and building partner programmes.

“We look forward to applying Colin’s knowledge and energy, and further building the profile and business success of the championship.”

Clark added: “In the past couple of years the British Superbike Championship has really come of age.

“It has all the right credentials and connects with a broad consumer audience whether at events or the armchair fan.”
