Mallory Park British Superbikes: Kiyo takes red flagged race 2

1 of 1

Ryuichi Kiyonari took the win in the second race at the Mallory Park round of the British SUperbike championship after Johnathan Rea’s dramatic crash caused the race to be red flagged.

Kiyo took the lead from team-mate Johnathan Rea early on in the race and proceeded to stretch out a significant advantage.

Rea lost second place to Ducati man Leon Haslam in one of Haslam’s many mad undertaking manouvers at the hairpin. But Rea saw red and tried to take back second immediately going in the following chicane.  He went in way to hot and had to slide it in to the airbags on the exit.

The crash pushed the airbags on to the track and marshals brought out the red flags giving Kiyo the win Haslam second and race 1 winner Shayne Byrne, third.
