Cadwell Park British Superbikes: Shane Byrne can’t wait for the Mountain

1 of 1

Shane Byrne has vowed to repay his Airwaves Ducati team at Cadwell Park this weekend after a difficult round eight at Knockhill a fortnight ago.

Byrne crashed out of the lead in race two when he lost the front-end of his Ducati 1098R going into the fast first corner at the Fife track. The BSB championship leader by 110 points was catapulted through the air on impact with the gravel and sent backwards into the air fence.

But Shakey has said he’ll be fully fit for Cadwell, and one thing he can’t wait for is going over the Mountain, over and over again.

He said: ““At this moment in time I would say that I have recovered 95% from my fall at Knockhill, but I will be back to full fitness in time for first practice on Saturday. I really love the Cadwell Park circuit and, as always, my sole intention for going as quickly as I possibly can around there will be to get back to The Mountain – I can’t go over it enough! I know that I gave the Airwaves Ducati team a lot of work to do after Knockhill so I want to repay them here this weekend with some results to really celebrate about.”
