Shane Byrne and Leon Camier have both said they are raring to get out on the all-new Ducati 1098 ahead of the three-day British Superbike test at Almeria, which kicks off today.

Despite the team only picking up the motorcycles en route to the Spanish circuit both riders say they are looking forward to getting back into the seat of a British Superbike machine.

Leon Camier told MCN: “I haven’t been out on track since the injury I sustained at Cadwell Park last year so I’m looking forward to getting back on a bike.

“I feel pretty good – I’ve been out training with Casey Stoner in Australia but I wouldn’t say I was race fit quite yet.”

Team-mate Shane ‘Shakey’ Byrne also admitted he was excited about getting back to riding: “It’s been five months since we’ve ridden and I’ve been looking forward to this moment for a while.

“Now it’s here and we’ve got the new bikes so it’s time to get to work.”

The track conditions are very damp this morning after a wet weekend in southern Spain, but with the tarmac drying out most of the team will be looking to get out this afternoon.
