Jorge Lorenzo will leave hospital in Barcelona today (Tuesday), five days after he suffered severe concussion in a practice crash for the Catalunya MotoGP.

The 21-year-old underwent a successful skin graft on his right hand yesterday and the Fiat Yamaha rider will return home to continue his recovery ahead of the British MotoGP at Donington Park in a fortnight.

Lorenzo had a skin graft on the fourth and fifth fingers of his right hand in an operation carried out by hand specialist Dr Xavier Mir carried at Dexeus Institute.

A final CAT scan also confirmed that the Estoril MotoGP winner has fully recovered from concussion, although he still cannot entirely recall the moments immediately before the accident in the second free practice session last Friday.
