Oulton Park British Superbikes: Cal Crutchlow tops Free Practice two

HM Plant Honda has ended the first day of practice at Oulton Park with the top two times, headed by joint championship leader Cal Crutchlow.

The race two winner from the opening race weekend at Thruxton set a quickest time of 1.36.596, just over a tenth faster than his team-mate Leon Haslam.

Fastest man from this morning’s Free Practice, Shane Byrne, was third fastest ahead of Tom Sykes on the Rizla Suzuki.

It was a split provisional second row between Ducati and Yamaha with Michael Rutter and Leon Camier fifth and sixth and Karl Harris and Simon Andrews rounding off the row respectively.

Tom Grant, a former Virgin Yamaha R6 Cup winner, is making a mark on his first BSB appearance with the SMT Honda team, filling in for the injured Adam Jenkinson, and set the 13th fastest time of FP2.
