Qatar MotoGP: Bradley Smith qualifies second

Brit Bradley Smith will start the first 125GP race of 2009 from second on the grid after team-mate Julian Simon bumped him off top spot.

Fellow Brits Scott Redding and Danny Webb qualified 11th and 13th respectively, both Brits having a relatively quiet qualifying session. Matt Hoyle qualified 31st for his first 125GP.

Aprilia riders Andrea Iannone and Nicolas Terol round out the first row in third and fourth.
