Dakar Rally day 10: Simon Pavey blog

Simon Pavey was forced to ride 200km off-road with a flat tyre after his mousse blew, but through sheer determination managed to complete stage ten and as a result remains in the Dakar Rally.

Writing for MCN Pavey said:

“I have made it to the finish safely. The mouse blew in my tyre today, so I had to ride with a flat tyre for about 200km.

“It was a really long day and with this problem, I had to stop about 40 times to refit my tyre. It was hard work.

“Tomorrow’s Special Timed Stage has been cancelled due to the weather forecast of heavy fog so we will just be riding the untimed Liaison stage.”
