Valentino Rossi: Jorge Lorenzo facing massive decision on future

Valentino Rossi reckons it would be a massive decision for Jorge Lorenzo to turn his back on Yamaha and make a shock switch to rivals Honda.

Lorenzo has been linked with a move to Honda’s factory squad for most of the 2009 season with the Spaniard’s two-year Yamaha deal expiring at the end of the season.

The 22-year-old is currently stalling on penning a new Yamaha deal and rumours of his big money switch to Honda continued again during last weekend’s American GP at Laguna Seca.

Rossi, who quit Honda to join Yamaha in 2004, told MCN: “I’ve heard some rumours and it’s difficult to say but for sure Honda is always Honda but now Yamaha is very competitive. It will be a big decision for him if he decides to go.”
