Video: Randy De Puniet back on a bike

Just 22 days after breaking his tibia, Honda LCR MotoGP rider Randy De Puniet rode a Fireblade yesterday around the Ales circuit in the south of France.

He completed 20 laps on what looks like a standard road bike, clocking times that would have put on the front row of a French Supersport race.

Afterwards he said: “Okay, it’s not as bad as I thought. The first run was a little difficult because you feel a little pain when you take knocks on the fracture, but the second went better as I became mobile and in the end I didn’t feel too much pain.

“You always think you’re going to, but until you are on the bike, you can’t really know. I’m relieved and I think it will go ok at Brno, even though I’m not 100%.”
