Misano MotoGP: Abraham fastest after damp free practice

Cardion AB rider Karel Abraham has ended the first day at Misano on top after the second pratice session was held in tricky conditions.

Only 13 riders ventured out on to the 2.5 mile circuit as conditions were neither completely dry or completely wet.

Brit James Ellison posted the fastest time early in the seesion, before Abraham relegated him to second.

Jonathan Rea – standing in for the injured Casey Stoner – posted the fifth fastest time and was one of only four prototype riders who ventured out on track.

Ben Spies and Alvaro Bautista were the final two prototype riders to venture out on track, setting the eighth and 11th fastest times respectively.

Both Valentino Rossi and Andrea Dovizioso took to the track, only completing one untimed lap each.
