1 of 1

Brit Scott Redding took his second Moto2 victory in a row at Mugello to increase his lead in the championship.

The Marc VDS rider won by 2.175 seconds to become the first Brit to to take back-to-back victories in the intermediate class since 1971.

It was Italtrans rider Takaaki Nakagami who was quickest off the line and led for the first few laps before Redding took the lead. Nakagami crashed out of fourth place on lap nine to record his third DNF of 2013.

Mapfre Aspar rider Nicolas Terol took the lead at the start of lap 10, but it wasn’t long until Redding retook the lead and pulled away.

Terol finished second with Johann Zarco completing the podium.

Championship hopeful Pol Espargaro finished fourth after a poor start which saw him in 12th position.
