Valencia Motogp: Vinales takes Moto3 crown

Maverick Vinales has won the final race of the 2013 season and with it the Moto3 world championship after a nail biting race.

The fight for the title was close between Vinales, Alex Rins and Luis Salom, with all three of them qualifying on the front row.

Vinales showed his intentions by taking the lead from Luis Salom on the first lap.

None of the leading three were able to pull away, with all three sharing the lead. With 10 laps to go Salom, leading the championship heading in to the race, crashed out of third position, ending his championship hopes.

Vinales and Rins battled all the way to the end, trading positions several times until the final lap.

Rins left it to the last corner on the final lap to make his move for the lead, touching Vinales on the way past.

Rins was unable to hold his line and Vinales retook the lead and was able to hold it over the line.

Rins last corner mistake allowed Jonas Folger to finish second.
