Valencia Moto2: World champion Rabat on pole – just

1 of 2

New world champion Tito Rabat will start tomorrow’s final moto2 race of 2015 from pole position, after holding off Frenchman Johann Zarco by only 0.043 to take his eleventh pole of the season.

Moto2 rookie Franco Morbidelli took his first ever front row start in third, while former world champion Thomas Luthi, who led most of the session, was relegated to heading the second row from Xavier Simeon and Marcel Schrotter.

Jonas Folger leads the third row, ahead of poor qualifying results for both Maverick Vinales and Mika Kallio in eighth and ninth. Luis Salom completes the top ten.

Sam Lowes will start from fourteenth, with the Brit struggling all weekend to find a decent pace on his Speed Up bike at the Spanish track, while Gino Rea, still recuperating from a badly broken foot at Sepang, is back in 32nd.
