Honda has announced it’s to re-enter the Dakar Rally after 23 years of absence.

The four-man team including Brit Sam Sunderland will ride a prototype based on Honda’s CRF450X developed by HRC.

From 1981 through to 1989 Honda competed in the legendary Paris- Dakar race. Out of nine entries, they won five. “We are aiming for the championship from this first year” said Tetsuo Suzuki, President of Honda Racing Corporation.
