Keith Amor signs with JMF/Millsport Yamaha for 2010

Keith Amor has today ended weeks of speculation by signing for the JMF/Millsport Yamaha team for the 2010 season with the news coming just a week after it emerged that he had ended his successful partnership with Wilson Craig Racing.

The announcement also puts him in an enviable situation, having his deal for 2010 already signed with many of his fellow leading competitors, and rivals, yet to secure berths for next season.

The move will see the 37-year old make a switch to Yamaha machinery for a concerted attack on the Superbike, Supersport and Superstock classes at the three Internationals – the Isle of Man TT, the North West 200 and Ulster GP – as well as contesting selected Irish national short circuit and road race meetings.

In what promises to be a busy year for the team, plans are also in place to contest the Macau GP, the Southern 100, selected British Championship races and, potentially, the Scarborough Gold Cup.

Amor spent two seasons with Wilson Craig Racing and it turned out to be a relationship that saw both rider and team elevate their status substantially.

In a short space of time, they achieved success immediately with numerous wins and lap records at the Irish National road races as well as recording podiums at all three of the International road races.

Although a win ultimately eluded them on the International stage, Amor and Wilson Craig Racing established themselves as, arguably, the number one privateer team.

However, the new deal with JMF/Millsport has got Amor extremely excited about his chances of success for 2010 as he explained.

“It’s been a real hard decision to leave Wilson’s team as we’ve had two great years together but I felt the time was right to move on and take on a new challenge and joining the JMF/Millsport team has given me just that.

“Talks with the team were very positive and I’m really happy with the deal we’ve struck so I’m already looking forward to next year.

“It’s great to have the deal sorted so soon and we have a full winter programme of testing planned so it’s a really exciting time for me – I’m very confident that we’ll have a successful year in 2010”

“Like I say, it was very tough to leave Wilson Craig Racing and I want to publicly thank Wilson and everyone else connected for the team for all their hard work, commitment and support over the last 18 months.

“We built the team from the ground up and enjoyed some really happy and successful times together, none more so than this year where we took podium positions at the TT, North West 200 and Ulster GP, and it’s been an absolute pleasure working with them.

“We’ve parted on amicable terms and I’d like to wish them all the very best for the future.”

Amor and JMF/Millsport are due to start an intensive programme of testing later this year.
