Manx Radio to broadcast Southern ‘100’

Even if you can’t make it to the Southern 100 you can listen to the race commentary live on Manx Radio via the internet.

The Steam Packet Southern 100 international road races  commence next week on Monday 13th July 13 and continue through until Thursday evening July 16, all covered by Manx Radio.

Race fans off the Island will be able to pick up the commentaries via the web on www.manxradio.com

Marc Tyley, Controller of Manx Radio Programming and Content said that the 2009 races will be broadcast on the station’s FM network, as the July sitting of Tynwald is being aired on  the medium waveband, a requirement under the Government’s  Licensing agreement with the Station.

The full details are as follows:

Tuesday, July 14 & Wednesday July 15:
Coverage on Manx Radio’s main FM network following a hand over to the commentary team until the end of racing at around 21.40.

The service will also be available on a Restricted Service Licence  (RSL) set up especially for the race area broadcasting on 100.6 FM

Thursday July 16:
Coverage will be broadcast on the RSL frequency 100.6 FM from a morning hand over to the commentary team, until the end of the days racing.

Manx Radio say that as soon as Tynwald finishes sitting they will also broadcast the racing coverage on AM 1368.
