Valentino Rossi has just pulled down pitlane on this-specially branded R1 to start his historic lap of the Isle of Man TT, and MCN editor Marc Potter is riding with him to bring you the exclusive story in Wednesday’s MCN (June 10).

Just minutes ago Rossi handed out the TT trophies to the Dainese-backed Superbike TT podium men and is now riding the lap before a hectic schedule of interviews and a special press conference.

Shortly before the ride, Rossi said he was delighted to be at the Isle of Man for the first time and very excited to be doing a lap of the historic track.

Rossi is riding a specially painted Yamaha R1 alongside Giacamo Agostini who is on a MV Agusta, and MCN’s Potter is on MCN’s long-term test Yamaha R1.

MCN’s Marc Potter said: “Minutes ago I was watching the Dainese-backed Superbike race at Bray Hill with Rossi and Ago and now I’m about to ride round the course, it’s incredible to be part of this historic moment. I just hope they don’t clear off so I’m riding round on my own and lost.”

We will have exclusive on-board video of the lap thanks to TT television gurus North One.

More when the guys get back from the historic lap. You can read the full exclusive story in MCN on sale this Wednesday, June 10.
