Edmeades to debut KTM at TT

KTM will be at the TT for the first time ever this year James Edmeades riding  Redline Motorcycles RC8Rs in the two superbike races and the Superstock TT.

Edmeades is no stranger to the TT course, having made his debut in 2006 and lapping at 119.9mph in 2007 on an Ice Valley Yamaha R1. He missed last year but is looking forward to 2010.

“I did 120mph in 2007 – okay it was 119.9,” he joked. “Then I rode harder in 2008 on a ZX-6 but the bike had bad brakes and I lost confidence.

“To be honest, I was disappointed in myself. Last year we only had the RC8 Cup bike so it wouldn’t have been competitive on the Island but I think the RC8R will be this year.

“We’ll probably run a stocker in all three races. The rules for the Suoperstock class have been changed (to allow quickshifter and kit ECUs) which are similar to those used in the German (IDM) series.

“So we’ll just swap the electronics package over so we can run the same bike in all three races. That way, we can keep our Evo superbike fresh for BSB races.”
