Where to get your fix of the 2011 TT

Friday, June 3

1820-2050 TT practice
Tourist: Take a stroll along Douglas Prom with a ride back on the horse-drawn tram. Or ride the steam train down to Castletown
Track: Chill out for final evening’s practice with a visit to one of the pubs on the course: the Highlander, Crosby Hotel or the Sulby Glen.

Saturday, June 4

12.00 Dainese Superbike TT (6 laps)
15.00 Sure Sidecar TT Race 1 (3 laps)
1645 TT Practice
1745 TT Zero Practice

Track: You need to be somewhere fast and furious for the Superbike TT and there are few better places than St Ninian’s crossroads and the terrifying drop down Bray Hill but it gets busy! Maximise your viewing spots by jumping on the bike to Bradden to see the Sidecar passengers swing from left to right past the old church.

Sunday, June 5

All day: Mad Sunday!
Tourist: Only one place to be today – on the Mountain on your bike. Pull in at the Gooseneck or Brandywell and watch the antics of the street bike heroes. Or you could give it a miss and head to Peel for the TT Day. If that’s not enough, check out the Purple Helmets at Onchan stadium during the evening.

Monday, June 6

1045 Monster Energy Supersport TT Race 1 (4 laps)
1215-1300 Sidecar Practice
15.15 Royal London 360 Superstock TT (4 laps)
1715 TT Zero Practice

Track: Best to avoid the Mountain for the morning races. It can be a long wait if the start is delayed! Play safe, head to Ballaugh to get a good spot on the terrace at the Raven. Or park on the outside of the course, watch Supersport over the village’s famous humpback bridge before touring along the little lane to the bug jump at Ballacrye for the faster, more evil-handling superstockers.

Tuesday, June 7

Tourist: Either kickback and go to Ramsey beach front for the run-wot-ya-brung Sprint. Or live it up and take part on your own bike! Call in at Jurby airfield on the way – just in case any TT stars are testing. Heading back to Douglas, the road from Ballaugh via the inside of the course, takes you over the moors to West Baldwin’s leafy lanes and an early night!

Wednesday, June 8

1045 Monster Energy Supersport TT Race 2 (4 laps)
1315 Sidecar TT Race 2 (3 laps)
1500 TT Zero Race (1 lap)
1645 Arai Parade lap (Hutchinson, Doohan, Hayden, Crutchlow)
1700 Senior TT practice
Track: Glen Helen, with pub and restaurant could make a good spot for the day. There are several vantage points. Or scoot around to Lezayre church, the bumpiest part of the course, to watch solos and sidecars battle gravity under the oak tress.

Tourist: Yamaha’s 50th TT celebrations with the Yamaha Classic Racing team on Douglas prom in the evening.

Thursday, June 9

Tourist: The Moddey Dhoo bike club in Laxey run one of the biggest custom bike shows and live music gigs during TT fortnight. Alternatively, hit Busher’s Beer tent on Douglas prom.

Friday, June 10

10.45 Yamaha 50th Anniversary Parade
12.45 PokerStars Senior TT (6 laps)
16.30 Milestones of the Mountain 100th Anniversary Parade

Tourist: Rub shoulders with your TT heroes at the Hilton’s Colors nightclub.
