TT Supersport delayed by rain

1 of 1

The supersport race should have started by now (10.50am), but it’s been raining hard over here and the circuit is still wet in places.

These guys don’t run in the wet – wet tyres wouldn’t last – and try telling a racer to go slow through the damp bits with dry tyres. It’s not going to happen! The TT Zero electric race will hopefully happen later along with the parade lap.

Riding in the parade lap later will be Mick Doohan, Nicky Hayden, Ian Hutchinson and Cal Crutchlow… and me. It should start at 4.45, but it might be brought forward, so I’m waiting ready for the call.

It’s going to be surreal riding on the closed TT course with these legends and I’ll be on Guy Martin’s Relentless by TAS Suzuki GSX-R1000 superstock machine (which finished third on Monday night), so it’s going to be an incredible experience.

All the superstars are here milling about and the atmosphere is astonishing – it’s a truly special place to be right now.

I ship out on tonight’s ferry, back to reality, but you can read all about the Parade Lap in MCN next week.
