Moto2 bikes humbled by World Supersport at Valencia test

1 of 1

After two days of testing in Valencia alongside Ten Kate Honda’s world Supersport team, it appears that the current Moto2 teams are not yet going as fast as expected.

Despite running prototype chassis, top specification suspension, brakes and having world class riders onboard, the fastest true Moto2 bike was 1.6 seconds adrift of Kenan Sofuoglu onboard his production based CBR600RR.

Anthony West was just one second adrift, but was riding the Stiggy Honda CBR600RR he campaigned in World Supersport this year.

The bike has been bought by MZ and featured a modified swing arm, front end and Dunlop slicks.

As the new class develops it should in theory easily surpass the lap times set by road going 600’s, but at the moment at least it seems they have work to do before the opening race of the year at Qatar in April.
