Sykes signs for Kawasaki, testing begins on Tuesday

Tom Sykes will ride for the official factory Kawasaki squad in 2011. Sykes’ future has been the subject of huge speculation after the 25 year old was linked with the Hannspree Ten Kate Honda team, but MCN understands that the deal wa s finally signed on Sunday afternoon.

The British rider will race the all new 2011 ZX-10R alongside Australian Chris Vermeulen. Spaniard Joan Lascorz will race a full factory bike in a Kawasaki ‘B’ team also run by the British based Paul Bird team putting at least three Kawasaki’s on the grid next season.

Sykes will make his first public appearance onboard the 2011 ZX-10R at Magny Cours on Tuesday and Wednesday.

The all new bike was wheeled out of the truck this morning and into the garage. Despite heavy rain today, two full days of testing are expected with improved weather forcast tomorrow.
