Biaggi and Camier test ‘special’ Monza engine

Max Biaggi and Leon Camier are mid way through a two day test at Mugello in Italy in preparation for next weeks fourth round of the World Superbike Championship at Monza.

The Alitalia Aprilia team are evaluating a new spec engine designed specifically for the ultra fast Monza circuit, a track where Biaggi hit 204mph in qualifying.

Max Biaggi currently holds second in the WSB standings but is yet to secure a race win in 2011 from the opening six races. Last year the 39 year old Italian secured the double win at Monza and given the speed of the Aprilia will start next weeks race as favourite.

Team-mate Leon Camier finished fifth and fourth at Monza last season and after some impressive rides already in 2011 will be focussed on a double podium at the team’s home round.

The two day private test at Mugello concludes today.
