WSS France: Lowes takes world title

In a season full of twists, turns and positional changes it was a fitting climax at Magny Cours that saw Sam Lowes crowned World Supersport Champion after finishing second behind bitter rival Kenan Sofuoglo. With the final laps being dominated by the swapping of positions between the pair of championship contenders it was a disappointment that the race finished with a red flag, but Lowes couldn’t contain his delight.

After the race he made an elated tribute to his Turkish Kawasaki rival, “I enjoyed that race a lot and I want to say a massive thank you to Kenan. I class him as a friend now and thank him very much for the fight.”
