Q. My Kawasaki ZX-6R has had a new battery and regulator fitted, but the battery still goes flat.

It will start and run with no problems if you bump start it, and when it’s going it runs perfectly.

A. If the battery is going flat that points the finger at the rest of the charging system. Get the alternator output and charge rate checked by a competent auto-mechanic.

You could also check that it isn’t a bad earth to the starter motor that’s playing up.
