What to wear for desert riding

Q. Work is taking me to Qatar and I’ll be swapping my Honda CB100R for a CRF450 to ride the dunes.

As gear isn’t readily available out there, and I’m clueless when it comes to MX gear. Can you give me some pointers on the kit I need?

A. Simon Pavey, off-road superstar and Dakar veteran reckoned you just need to get some standard motocross kit and a vented jersey. All his friends in the UAE pretty much ride like that. And of course a decent hydration pack.
