Harley and BMW dig deep to help terror-rocked cities

1 of 1

Harley-Davidson is donating the use of 30 police bikes and one million dollars to the relief efforts in New York and Washington. BMW has handed over 100 bikes to the New York Police department, too.

The bikes will be used to replace police vehicles lost in the terrorist attacks on the World Trade Centre and the Pentagon.

The cash is being handed to the Red Cross.

The Harley bikes include FLHTPI Electra Glide models, FLHPI Road King models and FXDP Dyna Defender models.

Harley owners and dealers are also thought to be preparing to raise more funds with a series of charity ride-outs in the States.
