Raging fires force rally to cancel

Wild fires raging across the US have led to the cancellation of the Four Corners rally, held annually on Labor Day weekend for the last nine years.

The rally is in South West Colorado, an area experiencing the largest wildfires in it’s history.

One blazing in the Durango area, which hosts the rally, has already led to the evacuation of 2100 people, and the destruction of 56 homes, and near Denver, fire-fighters are battling a 1200 acre fire.

In the hot, dry conditions, even a cigarette or hot exhaust could lead to disaster, so the rally has had to go.
