New ‘mini twins’ race series

1 of 1

There are race series for just about anything these days, from scooters to superbikes. But surprisingly, anyone with a medium-capacity twin, like Suzuki’s mega-selling SV650, has been left moping in the pits with no competitive class. But that’s about to change.

The British Motorcycle Racing Club, better known as Bemsee, is considering plans to organise an 18-round MiniTwins series to run throughout 2003 at many of the UK’s top circuits.

Regulations are being finalised to include any 4-stroke twin up to 650cc. Standard frame, forks, yolks, wheels, swinging arm, brake calipers in accordance with Supersport-type regulations. Race bodywork and exhausts will be permitted, but no slicks.

The series has been a massive hit in the States, but it needs your support to get it off the ground.

To enter you must be an ACU licence holder and a member of Bemsee by March of 2003. Entry fees for the complete championship will be just over £1200 for 2 races per championship round (36 races in all).

If this sounds like your cup of tea, fill in the form below and e-mail it to: jhsracing@lineone.net or call James Holland at JHS Racing on: 01179-712966 to register your interest. Bemsee can be contacted on: 01304-831714 and you can visit its website at www.bemsee.co.uk.
