Ducati confirms Smart bike

Ducati has confirmed it will be building a limited-edition homage to Paul Smart’s 1972 Imola 200-winning 750SS.

The bike is scheduled to go on sale in 2005 or 2006, and will take the concept of the MH900e Hailwood replica a step further, using more technology and improved build quality to create an expensive, exclusive bike aimed at wealthy connoisseurs.

The firm’s product planning chief David Gross said: ” We have identified there is a market for high-quality niche products like this, and we will continue to develop such bikes. ”
