Remember a year of triumph and tragedy

It’s been a tough year in many ways. Hardest of all was our loss of three British legends; Barry Sheene, Steve Hislop and Dave Jefferies. They were giants of motorcycling, heroes to us all and stars who we will never forget.

And then they started locking motorcyclists up for breaking the speed limit while car drivers got away with fines and points…

But there were good times, too; Brands World Superbikes was the biggest ever, Neil Hodgson landed the world title, a British couple set new riding records and more of you had more fun than ever at MCN’s Butlins spectaculars.

So join us to reflect on some of the most memorable moments on motorcyclenews.com throughout 2003. Follow the links, right, for everything from Prince William’s visit to the Isle of Man TT to James Toseland tinkling the ivories…and prepare for an even more amazing 2004.
