Recall for ZX-12R

1 of 1

Kawasaki has issued a worldwide recall on all 2000-2003 ZX-12R Ninjas due to a technical fault which can cause oil to leak onto the rear tyre.

According to Kawasaki, there is only a small possibility of oil working its way from the alternator, through the wiring harness to a plug situated under the rider’s seat. From there it could theoretically leak on to the rear tyre. Kawasaki is keen to stress that there have been no reported incidents of the fault in the UK and this is purely a precautionary measure that involves sealing the affected part of the harness and should only take around 30 minutes. This recall follows a previous recall for the ZX-12R in November 2001 in order fo the tyre valve nuts to be replaced. All owners are being contacted.
