Is this the future for BMW?

1 of 1

Exclusive spy shots of BMW’s radical new superbike have been revealed in MCN, October 1 issue. But now you’ve had a chance to read the four pages of technical information on the 165bhp Busa-style machine, we want to know what you think of it?

The bike features a completely new 1200cc in-line transverse four-cylinder engine, with ram-air to help propel the bike to around 175mph. The motor is housed in an all-new cast aluminium frame, with the emphasis on low weight to compete with the Honda Super Blackbird, Kawasaki ZX-12R and Suzuki Hayabusa.

BMW’s Telelever front suspension has been further developed to offer true sporting handling, with a lightened Paralever rear suspension. It even does away with the traditional BMW centrestand, but it does keep a typically-BMW shaft-drive system.

What do you think about BMW’s first full-on sportsbike missle since the K1 a decade ago? Would you buy one? And do you think this is the right direction for the Bavarian firmto take? Send your emails to mcn.online@emap.com with the subject line ” BMW sportsbike ” To read more technical details about the bike, see MCN, October 1.
