Over 26,000 riders descended on the Bavarian town of Garmisch-Partenkirchen for the 4th International BMW Motorrad Biker Meeting.

Over a hundred Brits were among them, alongside guests from as far apart as the US, China, Russia, New Zealand, Cyprus and Dubai. Events at the July 2-4 event included a rideout, test rides of a fleet of 60 BMWs.

There was a fashion show, bands and competitions. Awards were presented in categories for the Highest Mileage, Longest Journey, Most Original Conversion, and Best Classic. The winner of the first category had approximately 344,000km (around 214,000 miles) on the clock of his K100 RS. Three Americans shared the award for the longest journey – they had set off on April 27 in Shanghai to travel to the Biker Meeting, via Russia.

Next year’s event is on July 2-3 in Garmisch-Partenkirchen once again.
