Sheene TZ sold for £20k

A unique piece of racing history has gone under the hammer – Barry Sheene’s Yamaha TZ500 GP bike.

The 1980 machine – sold by former team-mate Steve Parrish – rasied just over £20,000. But that’s considerably less than was expected given the late Sheene’s huge world-wide appeal.

Parrish’s own 1977 Heron Suzuki GP bike went for £16,000.
